Construction.
The lamp consists of a glass tube with filament electrons shields into each of its ends. Its filaments are made of tungsten wire and are coated with material which has the ability to hermit electrons. inner surface of the tube is coated with a thin layer of florescent powder which is a mixture of various material as like(Ca , Z , Cd )etc. during the manufacturing of the lamp most of the air is removed from the tube small amount of argon gas and one or two drop of mockery are field inside it.

Choke
It is made of wires which a wound on laminated core .the main function of the choke is to develop high voltage normally three to four times higher than the normal supply voltage and reduced it from that higher value when the light is turn on.
Starter

1. Thermal type starter
Thermal type starter make and break circuit on base of temperature. so its name is thermal type starter.
2. Glow type starter.
It is not based on temperature.
Condenser
It is a device witch work to store the electrical energy. It is connected in parallel with the circuit. It is used for reduced the sparking from whole circuit

When the main supply is torn on, with the help of choke and starter a high voltage is applied to the tube and due to the heating of filament the organ gas is discharged and work as conductor and electrons start flow in the tube. the ultraviolet rays which are produced in the tube are mad comfortable to see by the thin layer of florescent powder in the inner side of tube the florescent tube light gives the light of 30 loudness/ watt .
Advantage of florescent lamp
1. Florescent lamp is 66% cheaper than other type of lamp and it provide more brightness than other.
2. Its construction is simple than other and more reliable.
3. Its light is not giving heat in case of other lamp heat is also produced.
Disadvantage of florescent lamp
1. Its electrical connection of more complex.
2. It is more costly than other.
